New Cat® Pavers Feature Exclusive Fumes Management System and Wider Screeds
More screed options and an exclusive system that redirects fumes away from both paver and screed operators are key features of the Cat® AP500E and AP555E Pavers.
The new pavers are truly global machines, able to adjust to virtually any jobsite. They are available with both vibratory screeds and tamper bar screeds with vibration, making them ideal for multiple paving applications and preferences.
Many contractors will match the pavers with the AS4252C, a high-performance screed with tamper bars and vibratory screed plates. The screed combines operator-friendly controls, quick adjustments, and reliable screed plate heating that deliver smooth, high-quality mats.
The AS4252C Screed, with extensions, paves at widths up to 7 m (23') with the wheeled AP500E and up to 8 m (26' 4") when used with the tracked AP555E. The wide widths make the wheeled and tracked pavers excellent fits for production work.
The New Cat® AP255E Paver
Caterpillar Inc. announces the addition of the AP255E Paver to the Paving Products machine family. Compact and versatile with flexible paving widths and precise material control to the electrically heated screed makes this machine extremely productive. This machine weighs in at 4500 kg (9,920 lb), allowing for easy transport with other equipment. A comfortable operating environment with all paver and screed functions easily accessible to a single operator ensures efficient performance.
The AP255E offers an extremely versatile paving range for working in a variety of applications. The standard range is 1400 mm to 2600 mm (55" - 102"), and with extensions can pave up to 3400 mm (133"), making easy work of parking lots and urban streets. When equipped with the central paving attachment, the range is reduced to 500 mm - 1400 mm (20" - 55") for effective performance on cycle paths, sidewalks, and walking paths. When utilizing the right-side attachment, the paving range is reduced even further to 150 mm - 1000 mm (6" - 39"). This option is extremely beneficial for trench work and narrow shoulders.
CB14B Utility Roller Added to the Paving Products Machine Family
Caterpillar Inc. announces the addition of the CB14B Utility Roller to the Paving Products machine family. The new CB14B is designed for compaction of asphalt and other granular materials. The CB14B is a 1.5-ton utility roller available with 900 mm (35") or 1000 mm (39") tandem vibratory drums. It offers excellent comfort, simple operation, good traction, and a reliable water spray system. Their size and weight make them highly mobile and easy to transport. Typical applications include bike paths, courtyards, patchwork, parking lots, driveways, town centers, trenches, and shoulder work.
New Cat® B-Series Tandem Vibratory Rollers: Ready for Multiple Applications
New Cat® B-Series Tandem Vibratory Rollers feature more drum options, increased operator comfort and enhanced technology to help operators and machines perform at higher levels. The new models are the CB44B and CB54B, and the CD44B and CD54B.
Many of the technological enhancements are provided through the optional Cat Compaction Control. The system combines infrared temperature sensors with mapping to keep the operator informed of current mat temperatures, machine position, and coverage completion. This intuitive system greatly enhances nighttime performance, and also records information for future process analysis and quality control documentation.
