Fairfax have asked Britcom to supply a fleet of 30 brand new CAT 308E 8 tonne Excavators as they recognise the very high performance and exceptional value for money offered by the CAT product.
Britcom Sales Executive Michelle Tate worked closely with Cat Financial Services and through Flexible Finance Options created a deal enabling Fairfax Plant to proceed with the purchase with confidence.
The first 10 units were delivered to Fairfax at the end of December 2012 and Fairfax have confirmed that they have all gone straight out to work in the New Year.
Mark Love of Fairfax praised the financial support from CAT Finance "As this purchase enhances our fleet of over 100 excavators ranging from 1 ton to 35 tonnes and we anticipate the 8 tonne becoming a more and more popular option in our hire fleet."
The name’s Bond, W H Bond. As 50 years of the James Bond franchise was celebrated last year featuring a cameo from a Cat excavator, a business with over 50 years of trading experience, W H Bond, has been appointed as the latest addition to the Finning network of Cat compact dealerships.
W H Bond, a one stop shop for the construction industry for timber, plant hire, machine sales, landscaping, civil engineering, agriculture and recycling services, will also be adding many new Cat excavators, telehandlers, rollers and skid steers to their existing plant hire fleet.
Andy Pearce, Business Development Manager for WH Bond said: “Following our acquisition of six Cat machines earlier this year, we noticed a story in the press about another company becoming a Cat compact dealer. Given the strong connections WH Bond have in the region and the experience we have as a business, we knew becoming a Cat compact dealer would be a wise strategic move for us. This led us to contacting Finning in regards to becoming part of the compact dealer network, and following a comprehensive review, we reached an agreement that is set to have a positive impact on our business growth strategy.”
Scottish plant hire group, GAP Group Plant and Tool Hire, has bolstered its fleet of Cat machines to 184 units following the purchase of 85 Cat 302.5 excavators and seven Cat 428E Backhoe Loaders.
The latest purchase comes on the back of a deal at the end of 2011, which saw the U.K.'s largest independent plant hire company purchase Cat equipment from Finning for the first time in a number of years. This initial deal involved the purchase of a total of 91 Cat mini excavators, a mixture of Cat 302.5C's, Cat 305D's and a Cat 428E Backhoe Loader.
Commenting on the deal, Ken Stewart, Group Procurement Manager at GAP for 11 years commented, "Having integrated a range of Cat machines into our plant hire fleet for the first time at the end of 2011, we have been impressed with the robustness of the units and their ability to withstand the operator techniques of multiple customers. We have equally been impressed with both Caterpillar and Finning in listening to our demanding requirements and accommodating us accordingly. To date they have been extremely proactive and flexible and this has been welcomed in today's challenging commercial environment".
